Festival Fireworks 2012

The Festival season in Edinburgh ends with the Festival Fireworks concert – 45 minutes of fireworks over the castle set to music. It is always spectacular, and this year was no disappointment. We got a lovely evening for it, mild and dry, so had a picnic in the gardens while we waited for the sun to set and the fireworks to start.

The “Dance of the Knights” from Romeo and Juliet was one of the most memorable pieces – it felt very appropriate to see battlements ablaze to such a dramatic piece. I also liked the very delicate green fireworks that accompanied the Fantasia on Greensleeves.
