Arriving in Oban late on Friday.
Saturday morning from 08:00 to 11:30 consisted mostly of faffing around with boats...
I thought for a moment I found an abandoned console, then I found it was attached to my buddy...
...who dragged it over the head of this scorpionfish, which paniced and swam into my hand pretty hard. No wonder he looks a little dazed.
A sunstar - believe it or not this is a voracious predator.
A long-clawed squat lobster guards his hole.
I've never seen a cuttlefish in the UK until today!
The novelty caused me to keep taking photos...
...and more photos...
... OK he's swimming off so that's it for the cuttlefish photos!
A starfish.
Ascending through the kelp forest. Not as gaint as in California but still impressive!
Sarah found a dogfish...
...and I scared it off. Sorry Sarah.
I love Leopard Spotted Gobies, but it's rare to get a photo of one as they tend to dart off as soon as they see you...
Another squattie on guard.
A female cuckoo wrasse.
A football sea squirt.
Featherstar
Sarah from above.
Sarah posing with some kelp.
Urchin.
Sea Loch Anemone.
Mary looks a little cold - presumably because her drysuit was flooding a little at this point. When I say a little...
Nudibranch - a very sparkly one at that.
A Conemara Clingfish - I've not seen one of these before either.
Heading out to the Thesis.
Lismore lighthouse
A goldsinny on the Thesis.
A rock cook on the Thesis.
A Bloody Henry starfish on the Thesis.
Dead Mens Fingers... OK you get where these are right?
Hull ribs from the inside looking out.
Sarah peering in at me through the ribs!
It was raining so hard when we came up off the Thesis, someone decided they needed dry air to breathe...
Heading back was a bit rough, and very wet.
It was so wet, the ferry had started to dissolve.
Sunday morning dawned bright and clear.
Kit prepared and ready to load on the boat.
The "divers down" flag looks a bit worse for wear.
The bay where Puffin Divers is located.
Putting the club boat in the water...
...with Sarah's help.
Valerie gives a cheery wave for the camera.
The Puffin fleet at Anchor. The RIB looks brutal, but the big catamaran looks like fun...
Getting there slowly but surely...
Tom "Anchor Man" Kerr in action.
Pete organised the trip, which kept him busy. He was continuously moving too fast for the camera!
Brian sat on the pier waiting for the boat to come and collect him so he could cox for us.
Hilary and Sarah on the boat.
Pete taking a well earned break.
Sarah - my buddy for the trip. Thanks Sarah!
Hilary.
A ruined towerhouse guards the bay where we kit up.
Sunshine, there was definitely sunshine!
Brian figures out where to throw us overboard - in the nicest possible way.
Dead crab.
Furry kelp.
Ascidiella aspersa - a rather warty looking type of sea-squirt.
A scallop failing to blend in.
Am I interrupting something? Oh, sorry...
A very small prawn guards a very large hole. Good luck with that mate.
An edible crab peers up at me at the end of the last dive of the trip!
