Stanford
A few photos from a Sunday afternoon walk around the Stanford campus.
There are a number of these rather grand gatehouses. It reminds me a little of the Cambridge colleges, only in a sunnier place and on a much larger scale!
The Hoover Tower dominates a lot of the courtyards.
Wide roads are occupied by more cyclists, rollerbladers and promenaders than cars.
There is no shortage of park land either, and it seems well used.
A palm tree on Palm Drive.
Rather precisely trimmed trees.
I hope that standing taking a photo doesn't qualify as obstruction...
Lines in the sun.
Cactus with flowers starting to grow from it.
Best to keep well clear of of these I think!
Another flowering cactus.
The air ambulance comes in to land at Stanford Hospital.
The "Dept of Public Works - San Francisco" don't seem to be working very hard!
TURN
Making sure I know how to cross the road safely!
